Crossing The Sahara on Inline Skates

Watch Johann Camboulive travel the 5,000 kilometers from Madrid to Dakar on skates.

5,000 kilometers on inline skates, from Madrid to Dakar. Crossing The Sahara desert, crossing Spain, Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal. That does indeed sound like a big mission. The man behind Travel by Blades, Johann Camboulive, managed to not only skate this trip all by himself (and his beloved bamboo trailer called Misty), he also was able to film his trip, pushing through the Sahara desert on his Powerslide World Cup long distance inline skates. And what for? Surpassing selfishness like borders and broken roads in the desert, Travel by Blades is based on a charity project called "Teach r.blade to senegalese children". This humanitarian action is also supported by ACCRO ROLLER, for the children of Apehs, Center Estel, SOS Senegal Children's Villages, Empire Children and Alefs. This project consists of distributing rollers kits to the different partner structures and introducing children to the basics of inline skating, bringing inline skating also to those who might have a hard time to afford this hobby.
