Joe Stuart's One Minute Review of Sunbury Skatepark.

“This was my first time visiting Sunbury, it was a lovely ride along the country roads and easy to get to. The only problem was that I went on a Saturday morning. Next to the skatepark is a BMX racing track and there was an event on, apparently it is most Saturdays. So if you can come on a weekday, I would recommend it.

With that out the way, let’s get into the meat and potatoes of this skatepark. There is an old section and a New section, the new section was built around 2019. But let’s start in the old section. I love the old box with quarters on each side, it’s something that isn’t done anymore but I say bring back the fun box!

The old section is an advanced section and not the best for beginners, usually the old section of a skatepark sucks but that’s not the case here.

But enough on the old section, this park was designed by a BMX rider and he has done an exceptional job, great lines! My favourite bit is the wave jump. You get heaps of air time and the landing is smooth. The ledge also is amazing, fast with a kiss of wax.

There are rails, big and low, round and square( someone has been listening, thank you! ). Something else that’s cool is the stair bash ramp, it has steps ⅓ the way down, sounds odd but it was lots of fun.

This park was one of the most fun parks that I have skated and I am going to give it 6 VBs out of the six pack!” - Joe Stuart
